As you may know, Fire Eagle (link to FE) was publicly launched recently . In many ways, Fire Eagle came out of the ideas and implementation around ZoneTag and the ZoneTag APIs. Much of it was due to feedback from you, ZoneTag developers and users.
Given that Fire Eagle will cater to much of your location needs, we will soon be discontinuing support for the ZoneTag APIs. Please refer to the Yahoo! Research Berkeley home page for more information.

Zync, a research prototype from Yahoo! Research Berkeley, is a plug-in for Yahoo! Messenger. It allows you to watch videos together with your friends, in sync and in real time. Instead of just IMing URLs and waiting for your friends to watch, Zync allows you to converse about a video (pausing, jumping back, and watching together with a friend). Both videos stay in sync. Sweet. :) To use Zync, load up the plugin and type a message to your friend like:
Both players (yours and your friend's) will load the video and play, pause, and rewind together, in sync. Zync works with most all Yahoo!, YouTube, and Google videos. Zync is a research prototype from Yahoo! Research Berkeley. We'd love to hear your questions or comments about Zync. |

Zync now works with the YMSGR protocol.
The protocol allows you to start Zync via some simple HTML. For example, the following link opens the Zync.
