TagMaps Web Services
This service will be discontinued as of 2008-10-15.
Please refer to the Yahoo! Research Berkeley home page for more information.
TagMaps is a toolkit to visualize text (well, tags) geographically on a map. TagMaps is available as a Flash component for your own website. The tags input to the visualization can be drawn from your own application - or you use the data API of one of our sample applications, World Explorer, where we used TagMaps to visualize Flickr tags on a map.
TagMaps is a research prototype from Yahoo! Research Berkeley. We'd love to hear your questions or comments; please come visit our blog and drop us a line.
What you can do with TagMaps
Overview
- Use the World Explorer data APIs to get Flickr tags of any location.
- Roll your own TagMaps and show your own custom geoRSS data feed.
- Pimp your blog/homepage/MySpace (or your corporate website) by embedding a World Explorer TagMap widget of your favorite location. You can even create your own interactions with the badge.
Terms of Use
