TagMaps : Badger

Pimp your blog/homepage/MySpace (or your corporate website) by embedding a Tag Map of your favorite location! Use this page to generate the HTML snippet to put on your page. In a few clicks, you'll get a nice interactive map to impress your visitors.

Have fun with TagMaps but remember that it is offered to you for non-commercial use and governed by the Yahoo! Maps API Terms of Use and Yahoo! APIs Terms of Use. You do not need a Yahoo! developer key, but the general principles and terms apply.

To get started, simply choose the type of tags you want on the map, the size of the desired map, the map area to start with, and the starting zoom level. We will generate the code to embed the Flash component on your website in the box below.

XML Data Source

Choose from among the current sample XML data sources or create your own.

SWF Module Size

Specify the width and height (in pixels) of the SWF (Flash) module. This will determine the size of the TagMaps object on your page. Make it as big as your page can handle!

Starting Location

Specify where you want to center the your map. You can enter a location using text like "Paris, France". If you are good with numbers, you can enter the exact latitude and longitude in float format (for example, "34.5" for latitude and "-120.1" for longitude).

Location Name Latitude and Longitude

Location Name:  (ex: San Francisco, CA or Paris, France)

Map View Type

Choose whether your map should display map, satellite or hybrid view.

Starting Zoom

Specify what zoom level you want to display your map as a number between 1 to 16. Level "16" will zoom out all the way to world level. Level "10" roughly corresponds to a country. Level "5" is city, and "1" is the lowest street level. We recommend that you stick with a number between 5 and 14.

JavaScript Callback for Tag Click Action

The embedded Tag Map can optionally call a custom JavaScript function that you implement on the page where the Tag Map is embedded. The Tag Map will call your function with arguments specifying what tag is selected by the user (tag, tag id, latitude/longitude of the where the tag is located on the map. See documentation.

No Callback Implement Callback

Your use of the TagMaps badge is subject to the Yahoo! Terms of Service
